Matthew 28:19
19 Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in[a]
the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit,
20 and teaching them to
obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age."
We
believe this verse is our Mission - and we are committing to making
this verse a little more personal here at home... by going and making
disciples here in Wallingford, Meriden, Yalesville, Guilferd, New
Haven, Southington, Plainville, Cheshire, Rocky Hill, and here in CT
!!
DISCIPLING:
“Go and make disciples” were
Jesus’ parting words as he sent his friends to join his mission in
drawing all people to Him.
We understand His words as a
mandate for believers to form deep friendships through which we help
each other grow in Christlikeness. In the spiritual practice of
discipling, we walk side-by-side along the faith journey, teaching,
encouraging and loving one another.
As each believer disciples
another believer, God’s presence multiplies exponentially – a chain
reaction of learning, growth, challenge and love that will transform
our world.
NMI is committed to discipling
new generations in their faith journey. Discipling, of course,
includes teaching emerging young leaders about Christ’s global
mission, and nurturing their mission passion. We do this through
one-on-one mentoring, providing opportunities for leadership, and
inviting emerging leaders to participate in mission work here and now,
no matter their age
Discipling Resources
General Resources
NMI has been
discipling mission passionate leaders for nearly a century. Recently
the Church of the Nazarene has embraced the mission statement, “Making
Christlike Disciples in the Nations.” We realize that discipling
leaders is a part of the mission of every local church around the
world. That is why we cherish our partnerships within the church as we
work together to make Christlike disciples in the nations.
